A learned and detailed account of the extraction of potash and various salts written during the frenzied days of the French Revolution. The work is primarily a technological treatise whose effective use did not come into being until 1805 - 1810 (the period of effective English embargo of the continent). There is a note on the title stating that this copy was presented by the American geologist William Maclure.
