Davy presented his studies and experiments in what is one of the first treatises on physical chemistry. John Davy commented, "...it is ... to be considered an epitome of his own labours, and discoveries, and peculiar views ...." The book contains an account of the author's discovery of fluor spar and the origin of fluoric compounds. There is also a modification of Lavoisier's classification of elements and brief history of chemistry and electro-chemistry. It is most unusual to find this book in the original publisher's paste paper boards. Fullmer p. 67 (incorrect collation); Cole # 344; Duveen pp. 160 -' 61 (Inventory #: 893)
