Very Good/In 1961, Edward Hornsby commissioned the British calligrapher Sheila Waters to make a manuscript copy of Dylan Thomas's radio play, Under Milk Wood. Waters required 17 years to complete the project, presenting it finally in 1978. It is among the most magnificent modern manuscript books, and it is now housed in Sir Paul Getty's Wormsley Library. Waters also produced this limited edition copy of the title page, with its descending scale of letter sizes and its remarkable iconography reproduced in blind-tooled letters and ornaments. . Ivory hand-made paper tooled in blind. 19 x 39 cm (8 x 15 inches), float matted and framed (frame 12 x 20 inches).
