Approximately 37 flyers from assorted nightclubs, parties, and events dating to the early to mid-1990s, most undated, including invitations or flyers for a private event thrown by the Blow Buddies, the Iron Horses motorcycle club, Fag Bash, the San Francisco AIDS Candlelight Memorial and Mobilization, World AIDS Day, Collar Me Blue: Working Class Love Songs for a Queer Nation, a leather block party, the Society of Janus, Gay Pride Weekend 1990, drag shows, a nude rave, a gay overnite Reno trip, a diva look-alike contest, and a swimwear fashion show, with DJs and acts including Michael Blue, Nikki Rivera, Michael Hamilton, Bruce Labruce, Sister Roma, White Trash Debutantes, and DJ Bugie, clubs include Fusion, Club Boomerang, the Chameleon, the Sanctuary, Klubstitute, Birdvill Palace, The Marsh, Uranus, Uncle Bert's Place, Crystal Pistol, the San Francisco Eagle, El Rio, and The Pit. Illustrated. Some very minor losses or creasing to some sheets, overall good condition. Various sizes, most 8-1/2" x 11". Loose as issued. San Francisco, 1990s. The gay club scene in 1990's San Francisco was made up of many subcultures and had something to offer just about everyone - protests, drag shows, punk shows, film screenings, poetry readings, raves, etc. The house scene was on the rise, as was the use of drugs such as crystal meth and GHB. Social activism was also of particular importance at the time, with San Francisco at the height and epicenter of the AIDS crisis.
