Octavo; G/no-DJ; Brown leather spine with raised bands, gold illustrations, brown label, and gold text; boards strong, clean, with shelfwear and edgewear, supple leather, gold illustrations along edges of covers - tips of edges worn off, corners soft, rubbed, rubbed-through at top front cover corner, rubbing at both ends of spine, cracks along both sides of spine, gouge in leather along back cover edge of spine; Textblock darkened with age, otherwise generally clean apart from foxing at front and back of text and periodical foxing throughout text, light wave to page however no obvious signs of water damage, cracked front and back hinges, previous owner's bookplate affixed to front pastedown, tear in front free-end paper towards top corner, name of a previous owner possibly inscribed on reverse side of page, name of a previous owner inscribed on title page as well as marginalia written in a different hand, notation and numbering inscribed on back pastedown, aging has lent pages a 'felted feel,' top edge coloring intact yet severely faded, red freckling stains along fore and tail edges, foxing along tail edge; pp 298.
