French picture book telling the story of Robin Hood, with color-printed illustrations by Roger Brard — including one curious, remarkably Wild West-looking rendition of a covered wagon in peril on a rocky cliff ledge.
Provenance: Prize copy, with bookplate on front pastedown, noting a 1957 presentation to a student at the boys' school of Quincy-sous-Sénart. Publisher's color-printed boards; binding slightly cocked and dust-soiled, front joint rubbed. Presentation bookplate as above. Minor offsetting to first and last leaves from pastedowns, otherwise internally clean. (Inventory #: 36828)
