These are striking color portraits of Blackfeet Nation native Americans, at Waterton Lakes. Produced by Great Northern Railway Co., St. Paul, as promotional images. Portraits include: Chief Short Man, Juniper Buffalo Bull and Little Young Man, Blackfeet Mother, and Morning Bird. Winold Reiss (1886 - 1953) was a German born American artist inspired by the Blackfeet Nation tribes; in 1927 he opened a studio in a Glacier National Park hotel where he painted his native American subjects. Great Northern Railway used many of these portraits for promotional materials throughout the 1920s.The puzzle box, 7 1/2 x 10 1/4", a bit rubbed at corners, the puzzles themselves in very good condition, all pieces present.
