Lewis (1855-1914), the lawyer turned cowboy, was known for his amusing and insightful "Wolfville" stories, which were inspired by his travels in Arizona, New Mexico, and western Texas. Octavo. Original red cloth binding, with pictorial black, gilt, and gray stamping. Period ink signature to the front flyleaf, with some faint offsetting to the endpapers. Mild dust staining to the top edge. Light fading and wear along the extremities of the boards; otherwise very good. Accompanied by a custom sateen dust jacket with gilt stamping and a leather spine label.
