Charleston, West Virginia : Parchment Gallery , 1981 Signed Limited Edition. This is number 65 of 80 copies printed and signed by the poet and artist in pencil on the bottom right of the print. Corso (1930 - 2001) was an American poet, youngest of the inner circle of Beat Generation writers (with Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, and William S. Burroughs). This is one of six original ink drawings of his creation "Saturn Family", each executed on a 11" x 17" sheet in blue ballpoint and black marker. "Saturn Family" was a collaboration between Corso and literary critic and University of Charleston Professor William Plumley. Letters between Corso and Plumley indicate Corso had, at least initially, thought only one of the six was going to produced and even complained about having to sign so many, according to About The Purple Moon, a gallery in Charleston, WV.
