by FLEMING, IAN
London: Cape, 1959. First Edition, First Printing, this is the scarcest form with the spine stamped in silver and the coins on the front cover stamped in gold. Signed by actress Shirley Eaton, who is one of one the most famous of all “James Bond Girls” in her role as Jill Masterson, secretary of Goldfinger. After sleeping with James Bond, she is murdered by Goldfinger by having her painted from head to toe in luminescent gold paint. Her image is as the beautiful golden girl is one of the great sensual icon images of the 1960s. Eaton has signed on the title page: “Shirley Eaton - Jill Masterson - The Golden Girl.” Laid in is a original color photograph of Ms. Eaton taken at the time of the book’s signing. Very good in an excellent facsimile dust jacket. The dust jacket has the classic painting by Richard Chopping of a skull with two $20 U.S. gold coins in the eye sockets and with a long stem rose between the teeth. (Inventory #: 15292J)
