Short 4to, in an fine contemporary binding of diced Russia covers, the boards with armorial centerpiece surrounded by elaborate gilt and blind-stamped foliate borders. Red morocco spine, presumably later, but equally ornate; inner & outer dentelles, marbled edges. London: Printed for the proprietor by John Johnson, and sold by Longman, et al., 1817. The frontis and title are foxed and dampstained but other pages generally quite clean. A very good copy in very attractive and intriguing early binding. Limited Edition - one of only 200 large paper copies, with the illustrations printed on smooth paper and skillfully laid in.
