Gilt decorations and title on spine. Reddish marbled end sheets. Light rubbing to leather joints. Light edge wear to boards. Spine has light cracks and the corner of the title label is chipped (no loss of title). This copy has a special gift inscription pastted down on the front blank end sheet to Ellis Gray Loring - "E. G. Loring from his friend J(?). G. Chase Sept. 1818." Loring attended Harvard University and was a co-founder of the New England Anti-Slavery Society. (Inventory #: 10167)
