Mr. Donald Smith's (later Lord Strathcona) role in the Hudson Bay Company all the way to his incredible managerial decisions that were crucial in the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway. He became the High Commissioner for Canada at London. The value of this book was the author's access to thousands of documents and letters that had never been examined before. Rebound in blue watersilked cloth, red elather spine label gilt, endpapers renewed. A very good copy.
