Uncut blocks of Miniature Picture Cards for a Deck of Playing Cards
Austria
Austria: Heller. Fine. N.d., circa 1900. 108 cards in all, in three blocks, which came from a single, or perhaps, two separate larger production plates. The cards are all King, Queen and Jack, for each suit, and repeated as one might expect in an uncut form. They are very much in the style, pictorially, of a Piatnik deck, with lush color and ornate, literal detail, except these are truly miniature cards, with each card measuring 2 by 1.4 cm! Truly a rarity as well as a novelty. (Inventory #: 005331)
