Oxonii (Oxford); (1988): E. Typographeo Clarendoniano (Clarendon Press). First Edition. Small Octavo. 12th printing. xiv, 79 pages. The best scholarly edition with the note that while undoubtedly there was a volume II to this copy but it had been lost either in last throes of the Roman Empire or early Byzantium. There was an Arabic translation of Averroes who though among the most learned men of his day was not proficient in Greek. The current volume and Averroes translation of the missing volume was translated in to German in 1928-1932 by a Viennese publisher. Lorenzo Valla (working from the weak translation) criticized the work as primarily philosophical rather than poetical. In any case, this is the only Greek copy that has survived. A fine bright copy bound in dark blue cloth, spine lettering gilt, in fine light blue dust jacket printed and decorated in dark blue.
