by Unknown Tailor/Seamstress
New York, 1841. letter. Very good. Single sided sheet, laid paper, with 26 lines of accounting documenting a rural workers sewing jobs from September 1841 through July 1842. Some jobs were done by the day and others by the garment made. An interesting first-hand account of country work a day and a quarter of sewing work brought $.38, likely Oneida county New York near Camden.A 'cout' was made for Ezra Devereaux, 'pantaloo' for David Gooderage, a jacket for Edwin Tilson, along with regular work for the Johnson and Tuttle families.
