Angleton and E. Reed Whittemore, Jr. while they were students at Yale. Whittemore taught at Carleton College from 1947-1966; and beginning with the Spring 1949 issue (vol. IV no. 2), the masthead of this periodical carries the Carleton address. Specific issues in this lot are: Summer 1939 (I:1), New Year Issue, 1940 (I:2), Summer 1947 (II:4), Winter 1949 (IV:1), Spring 1949 (IV:2), Summer 1949 (IV:3), Fall 1949 (IV:4), Spring 1959 (VI:2), Summer 1951 (VI:3). Fall 1951 (VI:4), Winter 1952 (VII:1), Summer 1952 (VII:3), Fall 1952 (VII:4), and Spring 1953 (VIII:1). Each issue contains a variety of poetry and prose from a variety of contributors. Each is also decorated with the periodical's signature mascot, "the imp." Uncommon.
