Contemporary sheep, blind rules to boards, blind fillets along joints, raised bands to spine, neat early repair to joints and head of spine. Light rubbing and a few small stains and scuffs to boards, upper corners bumped and somewhat worn, rear joint starting at foot, hinges cracked, front and rear endleaves lacking, recent owner label to front pastedown. Light toning to text, a bit of offsetting to margins of title page. An attractive copy. $150. * Second edition. The author of more than twenty books, Cunningham was one of the most prolific legal writers of the eighteenth century. First published in 1764, The New Universal Parish Officer was a successful work; later editions were published in 1767, 1771 and 1774. All editions are scarce.
