A recommendation to reject earthly temptations and rewards told through a dreamlike description of mortals travelling to the afterlife with Charon, attributed to librettist John Hughes and satirist John Arbuthnot. The text is dedicated to John James Heidegger (1666‚Äď1749), a man known as the Swiss Count and responsible for promoting => masquerades in London.
