Oeuvre catalog of Ernst's paintings, drawings, frottages, collages, and graphic works from 1939-1953, including the series of nature pictures realized through the semiautomatic decalcomania technique, his sculptures in Saint-Martin d'Ardèche and Sedona, and the series of "dripping" paintings of 1942/43. The works are listed in chronological order starting with the sculptures and ending with a series of works created in Paris, after Ernst's return from his exile in the United States. The volume includes 743 of his works and is illustrated with magnificent b/w reproductions of works of this pioneer of the Dada movement and Surrealism.
