First edition and a book of very considerable rarity. WorldCat lists only two copies in American libraries. Peyrilhe (1735-1804), "was the first to attempt an experimental study to determine the nature of cancer. He injected fluid from human mammary cancer into a dog…Peyrilhe recognized for the first time the essential unity of the many different forms of cancer."-Garrison-Morton 2608. He advocated surgical treatment in mammary cancer, removal of the axillary notes and even of the pectoralis major. Fine copy with the bookplate of "Petri Vidal, Doct. Med. Monsp."
