Elaborate description of Odgen's travels to Bethlehem and Narzareth, Pennsylvania, in the year 1799, covering religion and way of life of Moravians. Contains "extract of the 21 Doctrinal Articles of the Augustan or Augsburg Confession; for use of the Brethren's Congregation" and other religious texts and publications suitable for guidance. Ogden (1740-1800) was an Episcopal clergyman. He published several sermons, letters, addresses (including , and, asides this travel log, a book on travels through Canada. The anonymous publication "A View of the New-England Illuminati" is attributed to him. Printed page with errata at rear. Leather at spine damaged, partly missing and covered with tan library tape. Marbled boards heavily rubbed and with wear along edges. Previous owner's name inked ton inside front cover and front free endpapers. Starting after first front free endpaper. Block stained due to water exposure and age toned. Binding and interior in fair to good- condition.
