Philadelphia/New York: David McKay Company / The Junior Literary Guild. Very Good in Good dj. (c.1950). First Edition. Hardcover. [a solid clean book, moderate bumping to all corners, slight deterioration to cloth at top of spine; jacket edgeworn and age-toned (especially at spine), a bit wrinkled and soiled (not excessively), with a small black smudge on the spine, minor paper loss at base of spine]. Juvenile fiction about a girl "whose whole life is uprooted and transplanted by her mother's second marriage," which occasions a relocation from New York to a midwestern city just at the beginning of her senior year of high school. She isn't thrilled by her new step-siblings, "Babs, a glamorous girl Linda's age, but sullen and resentful of any intrusion [and her] younger brother, Roddy, [who] makes trouble from the start by breaking into Linda's prized photographic equipment." (And her dog has a problem with the new family's cat, too.) Linda eventually figures out a way to get some satisfaction in her new environs by joining a club called the Shutter-Snappers, and helping out her stepfather, a museum curator, with a project. .
