by [Saint Domingue]
Cap Français [Saint Domingue]: Chez Dufour de Rians, imprimeur de l'Assemblée générale de la partie française de Saint-Domingue, 1791. 15pp. Quarto. Gathered sheets, unstitched. Lightly dampstained. Very good. Untrimmed. A discourse by Frédéric-Ignace de Mirbeck before the Colonial Assembly of Saint Domingue. Mirbeck, along with Roume de Saint-Laurent and Saint-Leger, was appointed Commissaire Nationaux-Civil and sent to Saint Domingue following the insurrection there. They remained on the island from Nov. 29, 1791 through the first of April, 1792. This text contains his first address to the assembly, preceding the general amnesty proclaimed on December 5th. Rare, as is all Caribbean printing of this period. Though a record exists in OCLC, no holdings are identified. Not in Roquincourt. (Inventory #: WRCAM51646)
