1940 · N.p.
by Lester Cowan
N.p.: N.p., 1940. Four vintage black-and-white press photographs of Lester Cowan, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr., Hernan Santa Cruz (former Chilean UN Ambassador), and author Enrique Campos Menendez, signing a contract for the proposed film "Bolivar." The film was set to portray the life of Simon Bolivar, the Venezelan military and political lead of the 19th century, though the film never went into production.
One photo shows Cowan and the others signing a contract (with a press release note in manuscript ink affixed to the verso), one features a portrait of Cruz, one a reproduction of a painting of Bolivar, and one features Roosevelt, Jr., shaking hands with Cruz before a statue of Bolivar.
8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with curling and light toning. (Inventory #: 139105)
