Murrow (Strathairn), duly supported by his producer and closer friend Fred Friendly (Clooney) and his competent team, decides to use his talk show to expose the abusive senator and his contradictions. The film was nominated for several Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Writing - Original Screenplay, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Strathairn), Best Cinematography, and Best Art Direction.
