Stockport, ca. 1929. . 8 1/2 x 11. About 72 leaves. Orange cloth, upper cover blocked in gold in an art nouveau design. Light wear; about fine. Half the catalogue displays some 250 decorative stitched designs for hat bands. Thirty-five leaves display labels; of these 22 leaves are printed in gold on a purple ground. The other pages are printed on glossy paper with art nouveau borders in red, blue, & green. Bracher did designing and engraving "of all kinds" on any material, and specialized in color and gold printing. The company invented a mechanical method of sewing beading on the sweat band before it was sewn into the hat by hand. It became known as "bracherizing."
