Book Description
A rare and early letter by a University of Michigan student, discussing his try-outs for the famed basketball team. This letter was penned in 1907, just 15 years after Naismith's invention of the game. The student, named Glenn, states in part: " ...Our class practices for basketball tonight but I don't believe I will go out for the team I don't care enough for it. I like to see the game but I don't believe I will play even if I was sure of making the team..." . The letter is in very fine condition overall and accompanied by the original envelope. I have never seen an earlier dated basketball letter.
