Santa Monica: Coastlines, 1962. Paperback. (Vol. 5, No. 3). Small 4to. Stiff brown pictorial wrappers. 96pp. Illustrations. Very good. Minor edgewear. Tight, nice copy of this literary publication "published whenever cash permits." This special "Anti-War Issue" features contributions from (among others) Robert Bly, Thomas McGrath, Walter Lowenfels, and Kenneth Patchen (whose calligraphied "Defend Life!" fills the inside rear wrapper). This is a contributor's copy, having come from the private library of JOHN BEECHER (1904-80), noted social protest poet and fine press publisher whose poem "Engagement at the Salt Fork" appears here on pages 83-84. His wife, artist Barbara Beecher (b. 1925) boldly pencils "Marked Copy -- See Pg. 83 (J.B.)" near the top of the front wrapper. A fine association copy.
