By Sheridan, Philip Henry (1831-1888)
no place: No publisher, 1875. Book. Very good condition. Unbound. Signed by Author(s). No edition. Octavo (8vo). Three pages of a letter (incomplete, lacking the beginning), with the final section signed "P. H. Sheridan." A date or place is not provided, which is estimated at circa 1875. The letter, written entirely in Sheridan's hand, reads "... of the Army of the Cumberland at Columbus on the 16th + 17th of Sept. We will be delighted to see you them + promise you the most cordial greeting. I do not know if I acknowledged the receipt of your photographs or not + will do so now. It is splendid and has a place upon the wall. Say to Mrs. Belknap that her kindly words have given me great pleasure but that I will be deprived of the pleasure of visiting her at New London this season, but will hope to see her in New York in the fall. Meantime I send her as much of my heart as I can possibly offer to spare. With kind regards yours truly [signed] P. H. Sheridan.".
