Very faint dampstaining in lower margin, mat burn toning on verso but not visible on recto. A very nice copy with good wide margins. Hand colored Currier & Ives lithograph depicting the one-armed Kearny, mounted on his white horse, at the front of his troops, battle rubble on the ground. Kearny was killed at Chantilly, Virginia, in September 1862. The print's four-line title concludes: ". . . Of all the gallant Officers that have fallen, none will be more deeply lamented by his companions in arms than 'Brave Phil Kearney.' 'Who can replace Phil Kearney.'" Gale 2455.
