Fong Wan, the owner of this club and two others, called the performers "the Chinese 'Folies-Bergere' of the Americas.

Buffalo, NY: Workers Alliance of America, Black Rock Branch, 1938. 8.5x11 inch mimeographed handbill, paper toned, "Buffalo, 1938" penned at lower right. The Workers Alliance of America, a Popular Front-era collaboration between the Socialist Party, the Communist Party, and others, pressed for better WPA funding and welfare benefits for the unemployed. This handbill, targeting residents of the Black Rock neighborhood, urges laid-off workers to attend an unemployed mass meeting at Hamilton Hall.
