The Fall 2025 ABAA Diversity Initiative Discovery Program proudly announces its 2025 recipients: Madeline Huh, Grace Kuhlman, and Cherry Martinez. Get to know these rising booksellers and follow their journey through the program…

The ABAA Diversity Initiative proudly concluded the second iteration of its guided Discovery Program. Designed for individuals exploring a potential career in the antiquarian and rare book trade, the Discovery Program runs alongside the annual ABAA Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair and offers participants a comprehensive introduction to the rare book trade. Selected individuals receive stipends of up to $2,500 to attend the Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair, where they follow a tailored itinerary that includes visits to member shops, career insights, networking opportunities, and a roundtable with special collections curators.

For Fall 2025, the program welcomed three exceptional participants: Madeline Huh, Grace Kuhlman, and Cherry Martinez. Over the course of the program, they explored the world of antiquarian books, gained firsthand insights into different business models and dealer-institution relations, and built connections that will help shape their future in the trade. Dive into their experiences and discoveries in their blogs below.
