Garden City, New York: Doubleday, Page & Company [printed at The Country Life Press], 1916. Hardcover. Fine. Duodecimo size, 394 pp. In 1916, the "Great War" was still raging in Europe; here in the States, while its impacts were felt to a degree, life centered more on discovering a country which was feeling its strength and beauty. "Motoring" was a thing to do - we have yet to discover who the lightening conductor in question is, but s/he sets off in a motor car, nicely depicted on the front board, to take a tour through New England and New York, a map of which is depicted on the endpapers.
