Original two-toned white and blue cloth, deckle edges preserved. Pale dampstains on rear cover, spine toned; light spotting to endleaves, marginal stain on dedication leaf, else a clean and internally fresh copy. These portraits of the Diaghilev company's celebrated choreographer Michael Fokine, including the first photographs of Serge Lifar, were taken by the great ballet photographer of the age. Included are Irina Baronova, Anton Dolin, Alexandra Danilova, Frederick Franklin, Tamara Grigorieva, David Lichine, Alicia Markova, Marc Platoff, Leonide Massine, Mia Slavenska and others.
