Very early book illustrations by the important Russian artist Léon Bakst (1886-1924), dating from the year that he was first recognized as a stage designer; Bakst went on to execute numerous set and costume designs for Diaghilev’s revolutionary Ballets Russes. A scarce book, because of the condition, sold as is.
