Contemporary ownership inscription on front free endpaper. Light tanning and foxing. Very good. Second, enlarged edition of this interesting and uncommon gardening work, focusing particularly on the southern United States, with sections concerning the cultivation of various grains, vegetables, fruits, berries, etc., as well as the care and raising of farm and stock animals. Includes an index; recipes for curing beef, making soap from myrtle wax, and tomato omelet; and a method used "to dress rabbit or mole skins." The author, an experienced gardener and farmer himself, acknowledges that he compiled much of the material herein from other sources, but declines to name names.
