The book features full-page portraits of people living on the streets of Japanese cities. Known in Japan as "Rojin", Hibi translates the word as "road people-those who cross the road."Hibi also notes that they are, "a proud people, they live the way they do by choice. Thery ae very conscious of what's going on in the world. Thery are literate, and read newspaper's every day. Some have graduated from the top universities in Japan. There was one man who owned a company and made millions.
