The firat catalogue bound into this book lists 187 works. Preface reads: "NOTE. The paintings enumerated in this Catalogue belong to the Estate of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Inness, the widow of George Inness, America's greatest landscape painter. Most of these paintings have been given by Mr. Inness to Mrs. Inness with the express desire that they should not be disposed of during her life time; it is therefore gratifying to know that some of the most superb examples of this celebrated master will be available to the collectors and amateurs."
