Overall, very good or better. A somewhat scarce biography of James A. Garfield, buy noted author Benson J. Lossing. Garfield (1831-1881) was the 20th president of the United States, but was assassinated in 1881 during his first year in office. Despite serving in the Ohio Senate, he served as a general in the Union Army, and fought in several major battles during the Civil War.
