by Simpson, Alexander
London, 1845. viii,424pp. Contemporary half calf and pebbled cloth boards, spine gilt. Spine and corners worn, spine ends frayed. Modern bookplate on front pastedown, even toning to text (as usual). Good. Lacking frontispiece portrait and folding map. A rare biography of Thomas Simpson's early life and his service with the Hudson's Bay Company, including his joint expedition in 1837-39 with Peter Dease to explore the northern coast from Point Barrow to the Back River, previously unexplored by Franklin.
