Heavy edgewear to binding, with losses to edges and corners, small tears to head and tail of spine and edges of pictorial upper board, chipping to paper, heavy soiling and scattered rubbing, and pink stains to rear board. Both hinges tender and starting to separate. Tape and gift inscription dated 1895 to verso of color frontispiece, with tear to corner and upper margin. An admittedly very worn but still quite charming collection of these pictures and poems for "chubby pets," illustrated throughout in color frontispiece, three color plates, and numerous black and white illustrations.
