London, 1927. unbound. near fine. Two letters addressed to Henry Klein at the time he handled special events for the Royal family. The first: 1 page, 7 x 5.25 inches, 5 Cadogan Gardens, London, October 21, 1927, in part: "...Lady Askwith says that she will be pleased to distribute the prizes at the Annual Festival on November the 26th, and I will accompany her to take the Chair although I am not at all an expert on musical matters..." The second: 2 pages, 7 x 5.25, 5 Cadogan Gardens, London, December 30, 1927, trying to communicate with the Government officials, in part: "...I do not think that I could write to the Ambassador, and may not have a suitable opportunity for saying a word to him, though I will bear the matter in mind if I can make such an opportunity. He is rather a peculiar man and a wrong step would be unsuitable..." Both letters are boldly signed "Askwith" and in near fine condition. English lawyer and civil servant who became an acclaimed arbitrator in industrial labor matters.
