Original photograph of Fourth of July Parade (circa 1900) passing by the Miners Merchants Bank of Nome, Alaska (measuring 9 1/2" x 6 1/4". The Library of Congress Collection has a panorama photograph from 1899 which shows the buildings but with mostly tents and lean-to's. Since those from 1906-1913 have changed and automobiles have not yet been introduced, the date circa 1903 seems to be the most reasonable. Mounted to early blue card stock, small closed tear near upper right corner. Very good. (Inventory #: 025505)
