The text is composed of excerpts from the log of Warren Brown, skipper, and quotations from the Irish ice-sailor John Gore Grimes. The photographs of ice and sea are evocative and accomplished. Laid in are three letters from Trissel (the designer) about binding the book, mounting the photographs and delivering the sheets to the binder (Greg Campbell).
