Westover Alden (1862-1931) was an American social worker and journalist whose energies in the latter half of her life focused on securing the welfare of blind infants and children. She was reared largely by her father, a geologist, in western mining camps, and she could shoot a rifle and ride a horse at an early age. This novel is semi-autobiographical in that it is based on that part of her life. She founded the International Sunshine Society. Small 8vo., pictorial red cloth, stamped in white; 318 pages.
