A presentation Gene McKinney given at the annual meeting of the Charlotte County Branch of t APVA on September 21, 1974. McKinney gives a summation on the ownership of t land for this tract going back to the eighteenth century. The Carrington fam acquired the tract of land in the early nineteenth century through inheritanc but did not move there until the 1830s when they began construction of their house. The author gives numerous family history details of life at the house to and during the Civil War and continues the history at the property until t early twentieth century.
