by Guthrie, Charles Norris
no place [San Diego?]: no publisher, no date. Pamphlet. [i], 53p., softbound, stapled pamphlet in 8.5x5.5 inch decorated wraps: matte black cover lettered in gold and silver, shows a shattered pair of eyeglasses (a text reference). A bit sunned along the spinefold, staples are rusty, text bears a light foodstain at pp.51/2, a good (good only) copy. Metaphorical fiction: "Once upon a time there was a kingdom called Dragonia" [i.e., law enforcement establishment]. "Dragonia was located inside a great land of Democracy" [USA]. "Over the years the land of Democracy became very modern. In the Kingdom of Dragonia things remained the same." The booklet has a sympathetic foreword by G. Thomas Gitchoff, then Associate Professor - Criminal Justice Administration, San Diego State University, who still lives in this part of Southern California, per the net. Gitchoff's acquaintance with author Guthrie suggests that the author is also a local, or is a California prison inmate, employee, or activist. (Inventory #: 223596)
