Webster goes on to demonstrate that he is a friend to Jones and Piney School only as long as they continue to know their place in the white man's South. Jones closes the little booklet by quoting advice he got from an elderly African American woman when he first came South: "Bud, you is from up Norf, dowh here you is among de 'secesses -- you is got your paw in de lion's mouth, don'y you go rarijn' and pitchin' to get it out, you just ease it out the best way you kin.
