Tan dust jacket with brown and black lettering on the covers and spine. Grey cloth boards with debossed blind-stamped lettering on the front cover and black lettering on the spine. The work is a comprehensive visual examination of all known oracle bone fragments in British collections, (truncated) containing a total of 2,674 pieces spread out over the holdings of eleven academic institutions. The pieces are reproduced in high quality b/w lithographs on a total of 250 plates. An initial section of 7 additional plates of color offset reproductions is included. In addition to the illustrated plates there are text introductions and prefaces in Chinese and in English, as well as title pages and covers for each language. A loose plate translating the plate index table into Arabic numerals from the Chinese numerals, has been laid in.

Slipcase sunned with some rubbing and bumping to extremities. Dust jacket with minor rubbing, bumping and or creasing to some corners and along edges. Binding with bottom corners lightly bumped, and some light smudging along hinges of the spine. Interior with light creasing to the top corner of the front free endpaper.
